Butcher Works, Sheffield

Location: Sheffield, United Kingdom

Architects: Race Cottam Associates Architects

Race Cottam architectural practice selected Arcluce products for the outdoor lighting project of Butcher Works, an old factory built in 1835, once at the center of Sheffield’s industrial sector scene.

The architects transformed the old building into a 51-apartment complex, with shops and restaurants on the ground floor, around the courtyard and the old chimney. The conversion project retained most of the original characteristics of the building, giving Sheffield a high quality architectural project that has been used also as a location for some television series.

The lighting project used Arcluce INGROUND260, characterized by a high level of resistance and a load capacity up to 5000 kg. These devices offer a wide range of optics and are an ideal solution for contexts requiring a high degree of protection.
